It's hard to believe we're almost to Christmas and the end of this year! I feel really behind the curve on decorating and shopping, but here's what I've been working on as I can:

Welcome back readers and listeners! What can I say other than I've missed everyone and I'm ready to give podcasting another go. I've given the Shorty's Sutures Podcast a lot of thought over the past several months and I'm excited to launch this newest episode. A lot has happened in the past two years!

I'm planning on simplifying things by not worrying about episode categories, titles, seques with music and the like. I'm hoping it will feel just like having a regular conversation with me.

Currently working on:

Kastellet Sweater

Potholders for Christmas Gifts

Quilts for Nieces Cara & Chloe (the Princess Crown Blocks are made from instructions by Dana Bolyard from Old Red Barn Co and her Imagine Quilts book. The Gemology Block was free when I found it years ago but can be purchased here.)

I'd love to hear what you're doing to keep your hands stitchin'! Thanks so much for listening ❤️

Join me for the Shorty's Sutures Podcast where the conversation twists and
threads its way through crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery and other
stitchy projects.

The last episode was about settling in with friends (old and new), this episode is all about me settling down after a move and getting my crafty life back to a functional state.

All of this change has kept me from doing much stitching.

Happy (belated) New Year! I've never been a big resolution keeper (I've made plenty but not kept them). Inspired by Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade to choose a word for the year (Episode 105: Choosing your Word for the Year) to help me be more intentional in 2016. My word is Focus. This word almost immediately came to me as I was listening to Helen, so I felt that connection that confirmed that's what would work for me.

Sometimes just keeping that forward momentum is all that's needed to reach a goal. The path doesn't always have to be straight or never veered from, just keep moving. In the words of one of my favorite characters in Finding Nemo, Dory sang, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" as she continued on for Wallaby Way.

I've been working to keep the momentum going, too, when it comes to completing projects. After recording the last episode I went back over some yarn I'd pulled from my stash and a pattern that was recently gifted to me. Having patterns and yarn set aside together and ready to go helps me not to procrastinate. I just need to get better at pulling the tools I'll need at the same time.
The Christmas holiday came and went without the completion of a few gifts that I'd hoped to give, but the holiday was more enjoyable without the pressure of rushing to finish. Join me to hear how the time off from work after Christmas, and getting some awesome tools for my craft room, provided the motivation to jump right in to something new and make sure I completed at least one project that had been waiting patiently to be finished.
